Together with our guide, you will have a look at the most interesting place in our permanent exhibition - the unusual, colorful and full of secrets Synagogue in Gwoździec.

The synagogues in Poland were very picturesque. The synagogue is an excellent example of this
from Gwoździec, where the finishing work was undertaken by two Jewish artists from Jaryczów near Lviv.
They hid a message in the vault that we will try to decode. Why does an elephant appear on the ceiling? What was the meaning of the squirrel? What are these creatures guarding the tablets of the commandments? Did the ostrich really look like this?

During a virtual walk, we will not only answer these questions, but also discover other (sometimes mysterious) animals. We will also do a family art task.

Family shavuot workshops

A

When Shavuot, a joyful harvest festival, arrives, Jewish houses are decorated with beautiful, colorful cutouts and green twigs. In synagogues, i.e.
in places of common prayer, passages from the Bible are read in the original language. And do you know what language it is? At a joint family meeting, we will find out not only this. We will listen to interesting stories about Jewish traditions and complete a family creative task.

You will receive information on what materials we will need for the workshop in an e-mail one week before the workshop.
